Ruposhi Multiplex cum shopping mall cum BIG Bazaar at Agartala (M.L.
Plaza) and Ajanta Cinema Hall at Kolkata.

Doordarshan To Beam 600 FTA Channels By March, 2014

Doordarshan will start using world's latest DVB-T2 technology. After
this, more than 600 Free To Air TV and Radio channels will be
available at your drawing room without any cost. Pay channels too can
be viewed by this technology- thats too without paying a single penny.
New Transmitters are being set up in various places across India.
Doordarshan hopes to to start this service by March, 2014 next.

There are two modes of Television Transmissions. One is through
Satellites, the technology that we are currently widely using to
receive all channels. The other mode is through Transmitters. Only
Doordarshan has the right to broadcast through Transmitters.
Doordarshan is presently converting its existing Transmitters into
Digital Transmitters by using DVB-T2 (Digital Video Broadcast-
Terrestrial) technology. This will enable Doordarshan to beam 10 times
more Channels than its existing capacity. DVB-T2 is a latest
Technology that is currently used by Britain and few European
Countries only as of now. It reduces the dependancy on Satellites.

This is win win situation for regional broadcasters. Regional
broadcasters can reach their target audiences by using this
Terrestrial broadcasting mode by Doordarshan. The carriage fees on
Doordarshan's Terrestrial broadcast platform will be 25% less than the
satellite platform.

FM Radio Phase III Auction By October, 2013

The third phase of e-auction for FM Radio Channels will roll out by
October, 2013, Information & Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari said
on Friday. He said that the Ministry was putting the process in place
to make the e-auction as transparent and hassle-free as possible.

"I think by the next month, we would be in a position to unroll the
entire e-auction process," he added.

The third phase of FM Radio expansion has been delayed for nearly two
years. FM Radio Phase III e-auction will bring 839 new Private FM
Radio Channels in about 295 cities. Currently, only 86 cities are
covered by Private FM Radio Channels.

Khobor 365 Din Added On Videocon d2h!

Khobor 365 Din, the only Satellite News Channel based on Tripura is
now exclusively available on Videocon d2h.

The channel is added Today on Videocon d2h LCN# 766.

Khobor 365 Din is from BrandValue Communications (Rose Valley Group)
which operates many Channels like Ruposi Bangla, News Time Bangla,
News Time Assam, Dhoom Music and Planet M Cinema.

There was huge demand of Khobor 365 Din, as it is the only Satellite
News Channel from Tripura. another Satellite Channel, Voice 24 Tripura
owned by Chit Fund Company, Roofers Group closed down recently.

With this Channel addition, it is expected Videocon d2h will gain more
popularity in Tripura and NorthEast Region.

DTH Operators Violating TRAI DTH Regulations

Sir

TRAI issued 'The Direct To Home Broadcasting Services (Standards of
Quality of Service and Redressal of Grievances) Regulations, 2007'
which prohibits DTH operators from disabling the SetTopBoxes of the
subscribers who choose to opt out their Services.

But at present, the DTH operators disable the SetTopBoxes of a
Subscribers by transmitting a Software through OverTheAir (OTA update)
rendering it dead for the purpose of receiving FreeToAir Channels, eg
provided by the Doordarshan DD Direct Plus. Therefore, a Subscriber
has to buy a new SetTopBox to receive such FreeToAir or DD Direct Plus
Channels.

This is clear violation of aforesaid TRAI DTH Regulations, 2007.

We sincerely want that aforesaid TRAI DTH Regulations, 2007 must be
strictly enforced to all Private Pay DTH operators of India. DTH
subscribers must be allowed to watch FreeToAIR Channels such as DD
Direct Plus when their Subscription Period is over OR they wish to opt
out from Pay DTH Service.

All Private DTH operator should UNLOCK their SetTopBox so that we can
watch DD Direct Plus channels which they blocked by Software Update.

Doordarshan To Introduce Conditional Access System (CAS) On DD Direct Plus.

Doordarshan is presently providing free to air DTH Service with 59
SDTV Channels. The DTH Platform is being expanded by increasing the
capacity upto 97 Channels.

All channels in MPEG-2, DVB-S will be in free to air mode and all the
channels in MPEG-4, DVB-S2 standard will be in free to air mode for
subscribers after one time registration. Conditional Access System
(CAS) will initially be introduced in only two streams of MPEG-4,
DVB-S2 to count the total no. of active subscribers.

Doordarshan desires that more than one STB manufacturers can sell
their STB in Indian market with Doordarshan approved CAS and Firmware/
Middleware so that Doordarshan can count total number of viewers and
control look and feel in all STB marketed in India.

Doordarshan is inviting Tender for supply, installation, testing,
commissioning and operation & maintainance of CAS System including
Hardware/ Software, Firmware/ Middleware & works related to
implementation of CAS in Doordarshan's DTH Earth Station at Todapur,
New Delhi.

Voice 24 Tripura Closed Down!

Roofers Group, a chit fund company owned satellite news channel based
on Tripura is closed down. A group of staffers of the channel aided by
local mafia looted almost all the items from the office of the now
defunct satellite channel. The items looted include four costly
camera, one PCR machine, ten television sets and five computers. The
total cost of the losses seems to be more than rupees one crore. This
incident has shown the open nexus of the mafia with the chit fund
companies. Police action in this case is still awaited.

Tata Sky viewers Will NOT be able to enjoy Ruposi Bangla wef
7/oct/2013 as the Channel Provider has filed to pay the agreed amount.

Tata Sky public notice on Bengali newspaper also informed that, they
Will add another suitable Bengali Channel in place of Ruposi Bangla.
