FM Radio Phase III Auction By October, 2013

The third phase of e-auction for FM Radio Channels will roll out by
October, 2013, Information & Broadcasting Minister Manish Tiwari said
on Friday. He said that the Ministry was putting the process in place
to make the e-auction as transparent and hassle-free as possible.

"I think by the next month, we would be in a position to unroll the
entire e-auction process," he added.

The third phase of FM Radio expansion has been delayed for nearly two
years. FM Radio Phase III e-auction will bring 839 new Private FM
Radio Channels in about 295 cities. Currently, only 86 cities are
covered by Private FM Radio Channels.
