Intex Cloud X4, Cloud Y2 Budget Android SmartPhone Launched!

Intex Technologies launched two new Android smartphones under its Cloud range.

The INTEX CLOUD X4 features a 3.5 inch display with 320x480 px
resolution. It is powered by 1GHz processor with 256MB RAM. There is
512MB internal memory that can be extended upto 32GB via microSD card.
The phone runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. It supports Dual SIM. The
phone comes with 3.2 mega pixel rear Camera and a VGA front Camera.
There is 1500 mAh Battery. the company claims 7hrs of talktime and
300hrs of standby time. Connectivity options include 3G, EDGE,
Bluetooth, WiFi, WAP and GPRS support.

The more expensive INTEX CLOUD Y2 boosts 4 inch screen with 480x800
px resolution and powered by 1.2GHz Dual Core Processor with 512MB
RAM. It comes with 4GB internal memory and expandable memory upto 32GB
via microSD Card. The device comes with 5 mega pixels rear Camera and
1.3 mega pixels front-facing Camera. The CLOUD Y2 also supports Dual
SIM and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS. It also has 1500 mAh
Battery which offers 7hrs of talktime and 300hrs of standby time.
Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS, EDGE,
WAP/GPRS support.

The Intex Cloud X4 and Cloud Y2 is available at Rs. 4,590 and Rs.
6,190 respectively. Both the smartphones are available in two colors-

Radio Ooo La La 91.9 FM On Air Now!

Positiv Radio owned Radio Ooo La La started again on 91.9 FM at
Agartala. Currently it is playing non stop ninety's Bollywood hits and
jingles without any commercial break. The channel is expected to
commercially launched soon.

It was suddenly taken off the air since late 2009 due to non payment
of license fee and non submission of required documents. Radio Ooo La
La is the only Private FM Station in Agartala and was launched during
FM Phase II.

Radio Ooo La La is also available in Guwahati, Shillong & Itanagar.

DD Direct Plus To Carry More Channels!

Prasar Bharti is planning to increase 'significantly' the number of
channels offered through its free-to-air DTH service, by auctioning
them in a staggered manner.

It is also considering to try and get the best of channels on its DTH service.

Currently, Doordarshan's DTH platform offers 59 channels of which 30
channels are private. There are four foreign channels too- NHK, ABC,
France 24 and Russia Today.

"The capacity to carry channels on our DTH wing is set to increase
significantly as Doordarshan is planning to buy equipments that will
allow it to utilize an additional tranponder on satellite INSAT 4B",
an official said.

According to the official, though it was estimated that the capacity
of the DTH platform to carry channels could increase by 50, the public
broadcaster may strategise before filling up those slots.

Intex launched an entry level Android Smartphone Cloud X3 for Rs. 3,790 only.

has only 256MB of RAM and 115MB user memory though it supports upto

FM Radio Phase III auction likely to bring more Private FM Stations in
seven states of NorthEast India. License will be awarded on district
basis. So expect wider coverage this time.

ZEE To Launch Another GEC, Anmol

ZEE Network to launch another GEC in September, called Anmol. It will
be youth centric channel and is likely to take on Star's second GEC,
Life OK.

The new channel will also help it provide inventory to advertisers
which is set to reduce due to TRAI ad cap from 1 October onwards.

Zee to launch another Bollywood Movie channel as we earlier shared on
this blog.

Poor Condition Of AIR Kailasahar (Tripura)

We have a 6kW FM Station, AIR Kailasahar 103.2 MHz at Kailasahar, Tripura.

The reception quality of this station it poor. The sound is not
audible and often the worse. Most of the time it can not relay News
from Delhi/ Agartala stations. We suspect that there is no technical
stuff or this station is run by local villagers.

We have written to I&B Ministry and Prasar Bharti to improve this
situation for the benefit of people and utilize tax payer's money.
Lets see what happens next.

Tihar Jail Launches FM Radio Station!

India's largest prison Tihar Jail has got its own FM Station. 'TJ FM
Radio' launched at Central Jail No.4 in the Tihar Complex. Now only
Tihar inmates can listen to this FM Station, but if demand grows, they
will make it National Channel.

The FM Radio will entertain and provide training to prisoners as
Radio Jockey (RJ). If prisoners want to listen to their favorite
songs, they would have to send requests in advance.

Tihar Jail currently houses 12,000 inmates.

Death Of NorthEast's Radio Ooo La La!

Positiv Radio owned Radio Ooo La La was the first private commercial
FM station in the NorthEast India. Launched in 2006, Positiv Radio
started its first venture in Guwahati followed by Agartala, Shillong
and Itanagar in August 2008.

The hills were filled with musical waves. Hindi, English, Bengali
and local songs were played and loved by all.

But unfortunately, it failed to pay license fees and failed to
submit documents. As a result, all four stations were put off the air.

BIG Magic is a regional general entertainment channel owned and
distributed by Reliance Broadcast Network Limited. It shows comedy,

Private FM Radio In North East India.

FM Phase II showed lack of response in the border areas of North
East. The problem seems to be related with commercial viability of
operations due to geographical conditions, low population, difficult

ZEE To Launch Another Hindi Movie Channel '&Pictures'

ZEE to launch another Hindi Movie Channel, called '&Pictures'. With
Zee Cinema, Zee Cinema HD, Zee Premier, Zee Classic already in its
kitty for different genres of cinema, now comes '&Pictures'.

The new channel '&Pictures' would be full of Bollywood Premiers for
the first few months. It already acquired satellite rights of Chennai
Express, Besharam, Ghanchakkar and Zanjeer.

It is learnt that 70- 80% movies will be exclusive to this channel
and the rest will be picked from common ZEE library.

31 Private FM Channels In North East Soon!

Govt to allow bid for 31 Private FM channels in border areas of seven
North East states in FM Phase III policy.
FM broadcasters in these areas will be required to pay half the rate
of the license fee for initial three years and 15 yrs license period
begins. Apart from this, Prasar Bharti infrastructures would be made
available at half the lease rentals for these areas.
FM Phase III policy will extend total 839 new private FM channels in
294 cities.

In a bid to increase its outreach into the Hindi heartland, Prasar
Bharti is to operationalize DD MP, DD Bihar, DD Rajasthan and DD Uttar
Pradesh.

DD MP and DD Bihar 'soft-launched' and available on DD Direct+. DD
Rajasthan and DD Uttar Pradesh will start soon and will available on
DD Direct+ as well.

This is an attempt by pubcaster to provide localized and region
specific contents. Regional content is important as these states are
spread over large areas of the Hindi heartland.

ABC & France 24 To Be Added On DD Direct Plus!

Good News!
Australia's ABC and France's France 24 to be added on DD Direct+, the
county's only Free To Air DTH Service from 1st November, 2013. Both of
them are International English News & Current Affairs Channels.

DD Direct+ currently beams 59 TV Channels. Prasar Bharti CEO says,
"We expect to get the permission to increase the capacity to 97
Channels by December".
