Supreme Court Extends Deadline Of 2G Spectrum Auction

The Supreme Court of India on 27 Aug asked the goverment to complete
2G Spectrum Auction by 11 Jan, 2013 and allows the operators whose
licenses are set to be revoked to operate until 18 Jan, 2013.

Department of Telecom (DoT) had earlier this month approached the
Court to extend the deadline of 2G Spectrum Auction.

The auction is the last chance for operators including Uninor and MTS
India who are keen to win back their permits.

The final list of eligible bidders will be decided by 6 Nov, 2012 and
the bidding will take place on 12 Nov, 2012.
